Scholars

The Uyisenga Scholars Program offers orphans of the genocide a chance to get a university education in Rwanda. The scholars are chosen because of their excellent academic records and leadership skills.

These orphans can be raised out of poverty through the chance of education! Since Rwanda is so densely populated, a college degree is imperative to getting a good job.

The Uyisenga Scholars Program supports each scholar’s annual tuition of $700. We are also working with the Orphans of Rwanda Program (ORI), which provides additional funding for:

  • Living Stipend: $1080 ($90 per month)
  • Student skill programs: $270
  • Housing: $250
  • Healthcare: $150
  • Books: $100

Become a sponsor of an orphan’s university education — give a chance to someone who has lost everything, to gain much back through education.
